The Lee Residence
The Lee Residence was one of the first houses I designed on my own; most of my prior experience had been working under the tutelage of local Architects. This remodel was a little different in that from the very beginning it was decided to demolish the entire house & garage leaving only the foundation & floor framing.
The owners also wanted a three story design to capture the beautiful lake & mountain views. Luckily, the concrete foundation was designed to support the brick veneer allowing us to support the three stories. My job was to create a three bedroom, ‘craftsmen’ style home with a great room concept, 5 fixture master bathroom with a power room on the main and bathrooms for each bedroom. We also needed to locate a mud room with storage for the lake equipment & a shower as well as a third story play room.
We ended up with the following 3,800 sq. ft. house with a 500 sq. ft. detached Garage connected by a covered walkway.
And I LOVE the way the exteriors turned out.
If I recall, the total cost for the design and construction drawings was under 4k; which is an awesome price considering I did all the framing/gravity calculation in house as well as the electrical design.
